Akinsanmi Falaki is a seasoned business strategist, banking executive and public sector expert with over two decades of experience in Nigeria’s financial services industry. He holds a BSc in Business Management, an MBA in Human Resource Management and a certification in Corporate Governance from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles at top financial institutions including Skye Bank, Union Bank, Keystone Bank and currently serves as the Senior Vice President / Head, Public Sector (Country-wide) at FCMB. Akinsanmi is widely recognized for his performance-driven leadership, strategic foresight and passion for impactful development across sectors.
Akinsanmi holds a BSc (Hons) Degree (Second Class Upper Division) in Business Management from the University of Ado-Ekiti, now Ekiti State University (EKSU) Nigeria and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Human Resource Management. He recently got a certification in Corporate Governance from the prestigious North western University, Kellogg School of Management, Chicago, United States.
He began his professional journey in 2003 as intern from EIB International Bank in the Head Office Account Department. Within ten years of his banking career and in direct proportion to excellence and strong dedication to outstanding performance, he became the Head of Corporate and Commercial Banking of Maitama Branch of Skye Bank in 2009 where he designed and promoted different banking market plans and services which increased annual sales of the Branch under his purview.
In 2015, he joined Union Bank Plc as the Group Head, Commercial Banking, the position where he reported directly to the Executive Director, Commercial Banking and oversaw the day-to-day operations for domestic banking activities with improved branch sales and enviable business development achievements.
Akinsanmi later joined Keystone Bank in February 2020 as a Senior Manager and took on the role of Divisional Head, Northern Directorate & Public Sector where he led and coordinated the divisional team of marketing, sales, and that of technical service across the Northern Directorate. He rose to the rank of Assistant General Manager (AGM) within 15 months of joining the bank.
He was the Deputy General Manager (DGM) responsible as Regional Head, Abuja & North Central of Keystone Bank before joining FCMB as the current Senior Vice President/Head Public Sector, Country-wide.
